Launch of the Science Europe Survey Report on Open Science and Research Assessment
Webinar
Science Europe is undertaking a comprehensive exploration of the roles played by research funding and performing organisations in advancing open science, and its links to research assessment. This webinar will launch a report with the key findings of our member survey. The report reveals the strategic approaches adopted by Science Europe members, as well as their research assessment, monitoring, and evidence-gathering activities.
About the webinar
During the webinar, representatives from Science Europe Member Organisations will reflect on the insights gained from the survey and discuss how these findings can facilitate mutual learning, promote policy alignment, and strengthen the role of open science in shaping research policies. The agenda will include:
- Presentation of the member survey results by Bregt Saenen and James Morris (Science Europe)
- Reflection on the survey results by Sean Sapcariu (Luxembourg National Research Fund), Jolanta Šinkūnienė (Research Council of Lithuania), and Agnes Ponsati (Spanish National Research Council)
- Question and answer session with participants
The results of this survey will also guide upcoming initiatives, including member workshops and a tender for further information to contextualise and expand upon the survey’s findings. These efforts aim to develop strategic recommendations to further advance open science policies and practices.
This webinar is a unique opportunity to engage with the findings, discuss their implications, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the future of open science and research assessment.
