The High-level Conference on Science Communication took place under the auspices of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU and was co-organised by Science Europe, the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), and the Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS).

It brought together research organisations, policy makers, academia, industry, and civil society to highlight the importance of open, ethical science communication in research processes and explored the associated opportunities and challenges.

This report summarises the discussions and outcomes of the event, noting, among others, the importance to better embed science communication in research systems and processes, recognise it as its own field of expertise, and incentivise it through training and support.
