Workshop on Cross-border Collaboration and Portfolio Management of Research Infrastructures

30>31 Jan. 2017
THE PROGRAMME

The Science Europe Survey Report ‘Strategic Priorities, Funding and Pan-European Co-operation for Research Infrastructures in Europe’, published in January 2016, presents 15 recommendations to foster compatible approaches to the setting up of strategic priorities for RIs and to innovative funding among countries.

Building on these recommendations, this Science Europe workshop, co-hosted by Science Foundation Ireland and Health Research Board on 30-31 January 2017 in Dublin, explored the challenges for Science Europe Member Organisations, and for research funding and performing organisations in general, to: (i) strike a balance when allocating support to existing facilities and future ones, or to regional, national and international RIs; and (ii) design effective cross border collaborations when setting up and running joint RIs.
