Best practice, future possibilities, and the role of Science Europe

Science Europe and its Member Organisations share the ambition to develop opportunities for international collaboration to support excellence in science. In 2024, Science Europe's High-level Policy Network on Cross-border Collaboration & the ERA initiated a series of workshops to discuss equitable and reciprocal collaboration between Europe and other world regions.

Co-operation between Asia and Europe

The second workshop in the series will take place in Belgrade on 22 October 2025, following the European Regional Meeting of the Global Research Council. Selected Asian and European countries will share existing good practices and opportunities to work together, exploring the following questions:

  • How can we further develop and increase co-operation between Asia and Europe?
  • What are the preferred approaches to co-operation from an Asian perspective?
  • How can we develop our future co-operation based on reciprocity and equitable partnerships?
